The guide wasn't at the meeting point until 15 minutes before the scheduled start time, which made me nervous. However, the guide arrived 10 minutes before the start time with his flag, and everything went smoothly from there. It's a beautiful cistern, a must see. The guide provided us with some helpful explanations and answered our questions perfectly. I would definitely spend the extra money for a guide again, as he shared stories and tips on the best photo spots.

It was an effective way to bypass the long line and enter quickly. However, the guide appeared disengaged and shared the information in a dull, impersonal manner. He mentioned being very tired that day, which clearly impacted his delivery. Still, I believe a tour guide is like a performer and should bring energy and presence to every tour.

The guide was quite unprofessional. Thankfully, I found him at the last moment since he had already gone inside. There was no communication beforehand, so you’re left guessing if he’s actually your guide. During the tour, he appeared very lazy and uninterested, which was disappointing because it was clear he didn’t enjoy the job. Honestly, the audio guide provided more information. He ended the tour abruptly, saying we were free to explore but that he couldn’t stay all day. He literally left after just 10–15 minutes. It was frustrating.

The guide was competent, but with our group of 17 and the acoustics inside, it was hard to hear him. The company should consider providing headsets or limiting group sizes to around 10. The tour consists of standing in a line while the guide talks about the history for about 30 minutes, then you explore the Cistern on your own. It’s best to book a skip-the-line ticket and bring headphones for the audio guide.
