During your visit, you’ll experience the social and communal aspect of the hammam, connecting with a tradition that has been passed down through generations. Indulge in a luxurious foam massage, where a gentle lather of soap envelops you in relaxation. The massage relieves tension and enhances circulation, leaving you feeling rejuvenated.
Move to the rinsing area to wash off the soap and cool down your body. Take a few moments to relax and let the experience sink in.

The sauna felt a bit dated, but it was still pleasant. That said, the tip they expected seemed a bit high, and I assumed drinks were included, but I ended up paying extra for them after the sauna. I had a good time, but my coworkers who came along said they probably wouldn’t return.

I would totally recommend a turkish bath as it was both an amazing experience and a moment of physical recovery. The bath take place in an authentic old turkish bath, years unfortunately marking the building there are signs of old painting and moss on many walls. The entry might look a bit old as it gives the vibes of a old sanatorium but the actual massage space is nice. For my girlfriend it was a bit scary as all the personal at the entry was male but she relaxed after in the separate female section.they were very professionals in their job

They seemed really pushy about tips, and the massage itself was just okay. I brought my dad along and ended up feeling pretty let down.

A must-try activitya spot full of history, the oldest Turkish bath in Istanbul still in its original form, with a friendly and efficient staff. Best to visit late in the day to really enjoy the experience.

There was a cigarette smell in the spa, and the woman who did my scrub was awfulshe was rough, kept coughing near me, seemed totally uninterested, and rushed through everything. Overall, it was a bad experience.

The hammam, the staff, and the treatments were all spot on! Definitely something I’d do again and at the same place for sure!

Totally worth doing again. I’d suggest going in the morningwe showed up at 10 and it was great since it was quiet. More people started coming around 11. Really amazing experience.

Super relaxing I’d definitely recommend trying the oil massage

The hammam, which has been here for centuries, is fantastic. I went at 9 a.m. and had the place mostly to myself. They offer a private room where you can cool down and really take in the experience. The massage services, though, were disappointing because the masseuses didn’t seem very skilled. I wouldn’t recommend those. Either go alone or with friends and just enjoy the hammam itself.

It’s great to enjoy a Turkish bath and massage in such a historic spot. They gave plenty of towels and had a changing room with a lock and key. After about an hour, there were fresh juices waiting. Overall, a fantastic experience.

was decent, but given the price, we were hoping for something better.

Definitely one of the best parts of the visit. It’s a unique take on the usual sauna experience. Just be ready to enjoy every part of it. If you’re unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to ask the staff will find a way to explain, even if there’s a language barrier. When we went around noon, the hammam was pretty empty. Be prepared for some strong pressure to tip, but if your hammam master deserves it, it’s up to you to decide. The barber shop there was also a nice bonus. We’d recommend it!

It’s definitely something to try at least once, but I don’t think I’d go back a second time. The place has a lot of history, and the building itself is really stunning.

It was amazing to experience a hamam from the Ottoman period. I really enjoyed it and felt super relaxed during and after the session. They also wash your hair and pour water over your head, so if you’re like me and don’t want water in your ears, I’d recommend bringing earplugs, like you would for swimming. It was my husband’s first time, and he wasn’t sure what to expect or what to do. The staff don’t speak much English, so sometimes you’re left guessing what’s coming next. After the treatment, you can stay in the bath longer, but once I was clean, I didn’t want to get hot and sweaty again. If you want to hang out longer, there’s a shower nearby, and then you can head to the lounge area outside for a refreshing drink or tea before leaving.

The hammam didn’t have a pleasant smell, and the massage part wasn’t relaxing at all. The women doing the massage were whispering to each other the whole time. There were three of us girls and two guys, and the guys ended up with bruises all over their backs afterward
Helpful? Yes
Different impressions depending on the side… The women had a nice time the staff took their time and weren’t too rough. On the men’s side, though, it was much more intense. The staff wasn’t exactly unfriendly, but they were very, very harsh. All three men ended up with bruises. The biggest downside, though, was how pushy they were about tips it really took away from the experience at the end

The staff were friendly, and I felt at ease the whole time.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this felt really mass-produced. We visited the hammam in Side last August experience. The one in Istanbul, however, was a big letdown I just can’t recommend it no matter how hard I try!

It was a great way to experience the culture while also being relaxing.
Helpful? Yes
It was good, but I got pretty roughed up, and since the staff speak very little English, you’re never really sure what’s coming next which can make it more intense. For example, I got drenched and didn’t know if the water was going to be hot or cold. The massage definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted (especially guys!). Still, it’s something you have to try!

The bath was tidy and met all my expectations. I would definitely recommend this hammam.

Really enjoyed the experience in such a beautiful place. My only downside was the pretty pushy reminders to remember names and tip, then being rushed out with a “Number 10, your time’s up!” kind of vibe. Made me laugh though.

I’d definitely recommend this place! The building is stunning and has such a peaceful vibe. The staff were really friendly too. They could do a better job explaining the experience at the start, and it would be nice if the bath attendants all wore matching uniforms during the bath to keep things consistent.

The staff are friendly and they’ve got things pretty well organized. It could use a bit of an update though. Most of the staff don’t speak much English, but that’s understandable.

We gave this a try as a family and booked through since all the other Turkish baths were fully booked during our short trip. Booking this way was super easy, and everything went exactly as described. The place is well organized and the staff were professional, but it did feel like the facility could use a bit more upkeep. Still, overall, it was a good experience.

I’m giving it three stars because it just wasn’t really my thing, though I’m sure others might like it more. I’m glad I tried it for the experience, but I wouldn’t do it again that’s just my take. Just so you know what to expect: you change into a towel, then head down some stairs into the bathhouse. There are a few other people in there with you while you get scrubbed and washed. It was definitely interesting. Like I said, I’m glad I did it once, but I don’t think I’ll go back for a second round.

It was definitely an interesting experience. The staff were skilled at what they do, but they didn’t speak much English. Since it was my first time and I wasn’t familiar with the rituals, I was a bit confused about what would happen next. Also, tipping is really important in Turkey, especially after this kind of bath.

The scrub and steam room experience is definitely worth trying in Istanbul, but it felt a bit overpriced for such a short treatment—about 15 minutes. Honestly, it should cost less, especially since there aren’t any other spa activities nearby after the bath.

I think this place could really improve by making things clearer for tourists, like explaining the etiquette and what to expect. The ladies who welcomed me spoke English, but the ones working inside the baths didn’t. When I was at my most vulnerable, I honestly had no idea what was coming next. Also, the drinks they offer afterward felt way overpriced compared to what you’d pay on the street like three or four times more. I can’t compare to other bath spots, but the whole process and vibe made it feel like it should be more run down (even though it’s actually quite nice). Maybe if I spoke Turkish or knew the bath routine better, I’d feel differently.
Helpful? Yes
It was definitely an experience, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a couples’ thing really more for guys. I wouldn’t take my partner again because everyone is completely naked and there’s zero privacy. Honestly, there’s no shame at all, which might not be for everyone.
Helpful? Yes
The men’s section felt like a total rip-off the staff seemed way more interested in getting tips, which was pretty off-putting. The bath itself was rushed and felt really basic. On the other hand, the ladies’ experience was fantastic and genuinely enjoyable!
Helpful? Yes
The hammam experience itself is amazing, but there are a few things to keep in mind: They say it lasts 1.5 hours, but it’s really only about 30 minutes max. You can hang out in the hammam after the scrubbing and soaping though. The oil massage is an add-on, but definitely worth it good value for the money. The women doing the scrubbing sometimes ask for tips during the treatment. Some do it with a smile and even sing, but others seem like they’re not enjoying it at all. The place gets crowded and doesn’t really feel like a personal, relaxing spa it’s hard to truly unwind. The locker room is cramped and doesn’t offer much privacy or comfort when changing. The good news is it’s clean. Almost everything costs extra, even things like water.

It was a pretty tough experience. The guys doing the soap foam massage were way too rough I honestly thought he was trying to break my bones. Even when I asked for a gentle oil massage later, he still went hard and was just laughing with his coworkers. The foam masseur was number 30 and the oil masseur was number 17 I wouldn’t recommend either. Four days later, my muscles are still sore. I’m 1.75m tall, 79kg, and generally pretty healthy. On the other hand, my girlfriend really enjoyed the experience.

The scrubbing and foaming felt a bit rushed for me it all went by pretty quickly. My wife said that on the women’s side, they asked for tips and the staff stayed close to make sure they got them. I didn’t have that experience on the men’s side. I wish the scrub had lasted a bit longer; the foam and scrubbing were done in about 10 to 15 minutes, which felt pretty average.

There was no explanation when we arrived, and the service felt very basic rushed and done just to get it over with. After that, we were pretty much left on our own.
