The meeting point was fairly easy to locate. Here’s how it works: You pay for a guide to escort you through security, then they lead you to the palace entrance. Since guides can’t stay for the entire tour, they take you directly to the Harem first before leaving. At the meeting spot, you receive a voucher and a lanyard so the guide can identify your group. The main benefit is skipping the ticket line after that, you’re on your own with the audio guide (if your connection works). The palace itself is stunning and worth seeing. However, the tour company should clarify the process better at the start to avoid confusion, as some people were visibly frustrated. The initial chaos affected the experience.

Sala was a skilled guide, though we wished he had shown us more of the complex. His one hour tour felt a bit short. The audio guide was lengthy, and we eventually turned it off. Topkapi is breathtaking we spent nearly seven hours exploring every pavilion, arriving at 10 AM and leaving at 5 PM. To see everything, plan for a full day.
