Is Icmeler worth visiting

Is Icmeler worth visiting?

You bet!

Historical Tours

Icmeler is a good example of Turkey’s wealth of historical sights. Visiting the indoor and outdoor museums won’t break the bank – entrance fees are very reasonable. From the ancient city of Amos with its amphitheatre to Marmaris castle and its museum, Siteler Şirinyer Mosque and the Lycian Kings Tombs at Kaunos. Coach trips are a good way to see the beautiful Turkish landscape on the way to fascinating places like Ephesus, the Temple of Artemis or the unique marvel of Pamukkale with its Hierapolis and ancient ruins submerged in a natural hot spring.

Sports

Hire of sports equipment and instruction are also reasonably priced. For example, a diving company will provide transport, lunch, basic instruction and all equipment for just £18. The scenic, pine covered mountains are ideal for walking, pony trekking, or a buggy safari. There are organized day trips to islands where you can swim and go snorkelling, stopping at a local village for some shopping on the way. For a more exhilarating experience, try jet skiing, rafting or parasailing.

Eating Out

The classical English Breakfast is a favourite with Brits who visit Icmeler – try Tommy’s Bar or the Florida Restaurant & Bar. Vegetarians or vegans might prefer to have breakfast or brunch at Cafe Anne. If you fancy home made sausage rolls or a pasty for lunch, the Botanic Garden is for you. Or splash out and have a nice steak or curry at the Golden Moon Champagne Steakhouse. If you’re on a budget you might like to just have a burger or a meat-free option with a pint of beer at the Tipsi Bar. If you visit the Ace Bar, don’t forget to try the Mojitos, they’re highly recommended!

Pubs and Clubs

Icmeler has the best of both worlds – a peaceful atmosphere with a good selection of bars and nightclubs where you can dance and have fun until 3am. There’s a variety of cocktails on offer and fruit and nuts are usually served as a snack. There’s the chic Club Ace with its dance floor and quiet seated area where you can have a conversation. Neon and foam parties are a feature of the Ambience night club, which is free to enter. The pubs, clubs and restaurants are known for their welcoming atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and lively entertainment such as juggling acts, DJ’s, live music and even fire dancing bottles!

Every year, families and groups of young people have a really good time at this resort. Why not give it a try?
