Our Pamukkale tour began in a minivan, with the first stop at Karahayit hot springs. It was a pleasant initial visit, though quite brief since there wasn’t much to do there. The water felt cooler near the bottom and warmer at the top, but it didn’t feel hot to us. Honestly, it didn’t catch my interest much. Afterward, we toured Hierapolis with a very knowledgeable guide who clearly knew his subject well. We were all fascinated by the mystery surrounding “The Gates of Hell.”

If you have an interest in ancient history or archaeology, this place is definitely worth visiting! Keep in mind that a few hours aren’t enough to fully appreciate it, so staying at least one night is essential to explore all the different ruins and enjoy features like Cleopatra’s pool.
