The day was long — from our hotel in Kuta at 6 AM until 10 PM — and our guide traveled many kilometers on bumpy roads. It was worth it; I highly recommend this tour.

Kadek guided us through a full day of amazing stops – from the streets of Ubud to the Tegallalang rice terraces, a waterfall, the holy baths, Tirta Ganga, the famous swing, a unique coffee tasting, and even the Gate of Heaven. Lunch was included as well, though the buffet was fairly average. He also took lots of wonderful photos for us. The tour itself was very enjoyable, and Kadek was extremely patient. A few things could have been better: a calmer driving style would have made me feel less unwell, and visiting Lempuyang earlier in the day would have allowed us to take photos with sunlight instead of fog. I also asked several times to stop at a shop selling gongs and traditional instruments, but it never happened—maybe a miscommunication. Overall, I recommend this experience to those who are in good health and have good stamina; otherwise, it might be best to split the itinerary over two days.

In a single day, we visited Tirta Gangga, Lempuyang Temple, the rice terraces (with swing photos, and dress rental available), Goa Raja waterfall, and a coffee plantation. The trip was enjoyable, but we couldn’t see everything. Traffic was heavy, and it got dark early, so we missed the beautiful water gardens. We didn’t return until 10 p.m., so keep this in mind when planning. Our guide was very helpful, friendly, and took excellent photos. The food was delicious, and the views were stunning. We didn’t have to wait in lines anywhere. It was already dark when we reached the Gate of Heaven, but we still managed some nice photos. There were no additional charges for photos or the sarong, and overall, we were very satisfied.

It was very unprofessional that the guide tried to make us pay for Bali swing tickets that were already included. If we hadn’t checked the itinerary, we would have paid twice. He also spoke to the ticket person in Indonesian while hiring the dresses, which seemed suspicious. During the trip, he tried to replace the Golden Palace visit with another location against our wishes, and as a result, we couldn’t have lunch until 3:00 PM. The guide persuaded two other guests not to visit the rice terrace, claiming their villa already had one, but we received no refund for this cancellation. Finally, the optional Polaroid photo package is not worth it—the pictures are tiny, blurry, faded, and of poor quality.

I would give this tour just one star. I booked it specifically to visit the Gate of Heaven, but the guide changed the itinerary because another passenger requested the waterfall, which wasn’t originally included. We spent a lot of time at the waterfall and also visited a coffee farm without being asked, which delayed us. As a result, we reached the Gate of Heaven almost at night and missed the Water Palace, one of Bali’s main attractions. This tour was extremely disappointing, and I will never book it again.

The tour was terrible. The guide rushed everything, so we couldn’t enjoy the locations. Some activities weren’t even included, like water at lunch, the swing with its dress, and the waterfall. I would recommend anyone considering this tour to instead hire a taxi driver, ask the cost for visiting all the spots, and explore on their own. Local people on-site can explain the history just as well.
