Antalya: Lara Beach & Forrest Horse Riding Safari

Sadly, the tour didn’t live up to our expectations. Right at the start, we were told we couldn’t take our own photos because there would be professional ones provided later. Even before the tour began, we were asked to buy the photo package and pay upfront, which felt quite pushy and a bit rude. They had shown us Instagram shots beforehand that looked amazing and gave the impression we’d get high quality memories. But the pictures we ended up getting were a letdown poor quality and definitely not worth what we paid. The “beach ride” was just one short loop on the beach, followed by a quick photo session, and then it was over. We were expecting more time actually riding along the beach. The tour itself didn’t really match the description either. It wasn’t a circular route we just rode from one point to another, and a different group took the horses back. While that might make sense logistically, it made the whole thing feel more like a routine transfer than a special experience. Considering the cost, we really thought there’d be more effort put into the quality, the overall vibe, and how customers were treated. Really disappointing.

My wife, our 10-year-old son, our 6-year-old daughter, and I went on a family horseback safari. Overall, it was a bit of a mixed experience. Not all the horses seemed suited to riding; mine, for example, tried to kick horses that got too close. Much of the route was on busy roads with oncoming traffic, which was especially frustrating when cars and buses were circling us. The forest section was essentially a dusty driveway through mostly bushland, and the beach we rode on was, unfortunately, quite littered. It wasn't exactly what we'd hoped for, but my wife and daughter had a great time, and at least we left with a story to tell. The guides guiding our children's horses didn't speak English; one was talking on his phone, and the other was smoking while riding.

My friend actually fell off the horse during the ride. The experience mostly involved leading the horses back and forth along the beach and into the water just for videos and photos. I expected someone to guide us a bit more.

Really enjoyed the horse ride down to the beach where we got some great photos. Our horses were named Honey and Caramel. After that, we went for a nice walk through the desert like area with a few photo stops along the way. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

My sister and I had a great time doing this in the morning. We started off on the sandy beach close by and then rode through the forest. The horses were well looked after and calm around people they didn’t know.
