The best part was our exceptional guide who was warm, attentive, and demonstrated impressive knowledge and politeness throughout the tour. On the downside, our return was quite delayed, which could have been managed more efficiently. Also, an unexpected 40 minute pause at a jewelry store, which we weren’t informed about beforehand, seemed unnecessary and somewhat disrupted the flow of the day.

The natural beauty of Antalya, especially the views at both Duden Waterfalls, was unforgettable. The cable car ride was also a highlight. The rice was served cold, and the amount of meat was less than I expected based on my experience with Turkish cuisine. Additionally, the drinks were quite overpriced 5 euros for a beer and 7 euros for a glass of white wine felt excessive. I would definitely take this tour again but would either skip lunch or look for a better option.

The buses were quite old, with no air conditioning and broken seatbelts. We didn’t get as much time as we wanted to explore the old town. We were a family group of four adults and one child, including two pensioners. The bus pick up time was changed from 7:45 AM to 9:30 PM the evening before. We waited outside the hotel gates until 8:30 AM before realizing the pick up time had been adjusted. The bus didn’t arrive until 10:20 AM instead of the new 9:30 AM time and there was no apology from the tour operator. The bus was overcrowded with over 40 people, picking up passengers along a roughly 50 km stretch between Antalya and our hotel in Kiris/Kemer. This likely caused delays beyond the road accident the operator mentioned. We were supposed to visit the city cable car as per the tour description, which costs €15, but the guide informed us we would instead go to the Olympos cable car near Kemer, about an hour from Antalya, since the city cable car was out of service. We arrived there around noon. This alternative cable car would have cost €40 per person, or €200 for our family, which felt like misleading information from the tour operator. The extra expense was a surprise and the guide said those who didn’t want to ride would only have to wait 45 minutes. However, half the bus ended up waiting between 11 AM and 1 PM for the cable car group to return, again with no apology. We didn’t get to Antalya for lunch until 2:30 PM, meaning those who skipped the cable car waited from the delayed pick up until then around five hours for a journey that normally takes about one hour. The lunch, boat ride on the bay, lower waterfall visit, and old city walk went smoothly, except the boat operator tried to charge families €6 for ice cream. This was the only well organized part of the day. Different guests had varied schedules, with some visiting the upper waterfall earlier for a lower price. Instead of taking us to the upper waterfall while there was still daylight, the guide directed the driver to a jewelry store about 30 minutes outside the city center far from the shopping center advertised. No one wanted to go in; it felt like a desperate attempt by the operator to earn commission. We reached the upper waterfall area after dark at 6:30 PM. We were rushed to hurry because minibuses were arranged to return everyone to their hotels. The minibus allocation was chaotic, causing frustration among families. We got back to our hotel at 8:15 PM, tired, worn out, and upset. It’s shocking that this operator has been allowed to run tours like this all season. They couldn’t even manage a simple event properly. Given the distress and inconvenience caused to my family and me, I believe a refund of at least 50% for the portion of the trip that went smoothly would be fair, considering how misled and mishandled we were.

The boat ride had no guide or explanation, so it ended up being quite dull. As for the coastal waterfalls, you view them twice once from the bus and once from the boat. The market bazaar turned out to be more of a knock off brand shopping area than a traditional market. The old town port was charming but very small.
