Which airport for Turunc?

The tranquil resort of Turunc, named after the oranges grown in the region that are used to make marmalade, is very popular with British and other European tourists during the holiday season. The secluded arc of its bay is backed by the Taurus mountains and has a nice, cool breeze even in mid-summer. The little farming village has developed into a haven for tourism that has plenty of facilities but still doesn’t get too crowded. There’s lots to do here including water sports, pony trekking, jeep safari and trips to ancient ruins. So what’s the best way to travel to Turunc?

Dalaman Airport (DLM)

Dalaman is the nearest airport to Turunc. There are lots of flights during high season (April – October) and some flights out of season, too. The flight from the UK to Dalaman takes around 4 hours. They leave from several airports in the UK including London, Bournemouth, Norwich, Cardiff, Liverpool, Glasgow and Belfast. British Airways, Easy Jet, Pegasus and Turkish Airlines are among the companies that fly from the UK to Dalaman. There’s more chance of a cheap flight if you book well in advance but prices vary depending on the flight times and length of stay in Turkey.

The airport is 115 km away from Turunç and it takes about 2 hours to travel there. It’s a fairly new airport and used by about 3.5 million people every year. Its cafes and restaurants are expensive so its best to bring your own food as far as possible, although you can’t take drinks through security. Exchange rates aren’t very good so its better not to change money at the airport. There’s free Wifi and a duty free shop which is worth checking out, although the seats aren’t very comfortable. For more comfortable chairs, Satellite TV, a terrace, nap zone, workstation and a playground for the children you have the option of using the CIP lounge for an extra 30 Euros.

If you book a taxi or people-carrier in advance the journey to Turunc costs around £100. Some airlines have a shuttle service to Turunc which is cheaper, if longer, at £25 per person return. There are always taxis waiting to take you from the village centre to your accommodation and this only costs around £5.

The best offer you can get for Turunc Airport Transfer is by Vista Transfer Company. You get get vip minibus transfer service from Dalaman To Turunc only for 35 £.

Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV)

The second closest airport to Turunc is in Bodrum, 150 km away which means the journey will be a bit longer and more expensive but it may be worth considering if you can find a cheaper or more convenient flight here.

Transfer To Turunc From Bodrum Airport is 100 £ with Vista Transfer Company.

No visa required for British citizens

As of 2 March 2020 British citizens are no longer required to get a visa for tourism or business purposes for a stay of up to 90 days within a period of 180 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Turkey and must have at least one full blank page for the entry and exit stamps.
