Dalaman Airport For Marmaris

Although Marmaris is very popular in the summer, it is quite a small town with a low population during the rest of the year so it doesn’t have it’s own airport. The nearest airport to Marmaris is Dalaman International Airport, which lies 90 km (56 miles) from Marmaris. The airport has banks, facilities for exchanging money, restaurants and shops. There are two bus companies that provide transfers from the airport to Marmaris for a reasonable price, these are Muttaş and Havaş. Bus times are linked to incoming flights. The journey between Dalaman and Marmaris takes around 90 minutes depending on traffic and costs 25 Turkish Lira, equivalent to 3.80 Euros. Taxis are more convenient but obviously more expensive. Bodrum Airport For Marmaris

Bodrum International Airport is further away from Marmaris at 130 km (82 miles) and flights to Bodrum from the UK seem to be around the same price as flights to Dalaman. As for the cost of airport transfers and the travelling time, as shown on the map here: https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Bodrum-Airport-BJV/Marmaris there is a reasonably priced shuttle bus from Bodrum Milas Airport to Güvercinlik. This takes 20 minutes and costs 7-10 Lira (about 1 Euro).

Then you need to walk for approximately 12 minutes to get the bus for the 1 hour 15 minute journey to Yatagan, costing between 45-65 Lira and from there the 1 hour 40 minute journey to Marmaris, which costs between 17-65 Lira. To summarise, if you want to take the cheapest option, travelling by bus will cost a total of 69-140 Lira (10.50-21.30 Euros) for the journey which takes a total of around 3 hours 45 minutes.

Which airport is better?

There are lots of flights from Europe to Dalaman during the summer season whereas other international flights are usually via Istanbul. Dalaman airport seems preferable when you consider the distance and travelling time is much shorter than Bodrum airport.
