Overview

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Morocco on this three-day budget tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert. Discover the dramatic landscapes of the Dades Valley, marvel at the historic Kasbah of Ouarzazate, and ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Experience the traditions of the Berber people, enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine, and sleep under the stars at a desert camp.

Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Dades Valley

Your journey begins with a scenic drive across the High Atlas Mountains, passing charming Berber villages along the way. The first major stop is the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, an iconic fortified village famous for its historic kasbahs and appearances in Hollywood films. Take your time to explore the village and learn about its cultural significance. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Ouarzazate, also known as the "Gate of the Sahara."

From Ouarzazate, travel through the picturesque Dades Valley, known for its lush greenery and dramatic rock formations. Arrive in Boumalne Dades in the evening, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and spend the night at a charming kasbah hotel surrounded by stunning views of the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga

After breakfast, continue your journey to Tinghir, where you'll visit the spectacular Todgha Gorges. These towering canyon walls are perfect for a relaxing walk or capturing stunning photos of the natural scenery. After some free time in the gorges, stop for lunch at a local café before heading to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, meet your camel caravan for an unforgettable trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, where the golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see. As the sun sets, watch the desert landscape transform into a sea of glowing orange hues. Arrive at your desert camp before nightfall and settle into your private tent.

Under the stars, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner while local Berber nomads entertain you with traditional Tam Tam drum music. Spend the night in your tent, with options to upgrade to a luxury desert camp featuring private ensuite bathrooms and 5-star amenities for added comfort.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Begin your day early with the chance to witness a stunning desert sunrise (optional) before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Ride camels back to the main road, where your driver will be waiting for the return trip to Marrakech.

Travel back through Ouarzazate, with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. As you journey through the changing landscapes, from the vast Sahara to the rugged mountains, take in the beauty of Morocco’s diverse geography. Arrive back in Marrakech around 8:00 PM, where you’ll be dropped off at your original departure point or the bustling Djemaa El Fna Square.

Amazing! Everything was flawless. A once in a lifetime experience, especially with a friendly and fun group. We did it in summer, so it was very warm, but there were enough stops to buy water along the way. Be prepared for the heat. The guides were excellent! Special thanks to our driver, Mohammed Himma he was incredible. I could say so much more, but you really have to experience it yourself!

The Sahara trip was absolutely worth it wonderfully guided with interesting stories about Marrakesh, stunning views, and flawless organization. Everything ran smoothly, but special praise goes to our driver. He was not only professional but also became a great companion, always ready to help and smiling. Even when we accidentally left our bag on the bus at the end, he arranged for us to retrieve it at the office without any issues. Thanks to him, the entire trip felt even more special!

Our guide, Ahmed, was fantastic and explained everything about the places we visited. The weekend as a whole was incredible. Although we spent many hours on the bus, the frequent stops made the journey feel much shorter. The locals in the village where we stayed were very welcoming, and we enjoyed playing with the children. One minor downside: the advertisement didn’t mention that we needed to bring swimsuits for swimming at the hotel and the inn during the break. The roads were quite bumpy, with many potholes and speed bumps ????. Huge thanks to Ahmed for your kindness, time, and above all, your courage!

A fantastic activity! I highly recommend it if you have the chance, especially for three days including camel riding, accommodation, and food very reasonable. You get to visit incredible sites and hear excellent explanations about Morocco’s must-see places. Many thanks to the guide for sharing so much knowledge, and a special thanks to the driver who made the trip so enjoyable, with plenty of pleasant stops along the way to rest or buy items, and shared lots of interesting insights. The only downside was the evening camp I had expected a small show.

Our driver, Mazouzi, was very kind and helpful. He was flexible and responsive to everyone’s requests. All the attractions along the way were amazing, and the desert and camel trek to the camp were unforgettable. Overall, it was a very nice trip, and we recommend it. However, I have a few complaints: there were too many people in the car, which is not suitable for such a long journey (over 1,000 kilometers). The travel agency should ensure participants’ comfort. There was also no drinking water on the bus despite temperatures of 35–40°C, which was a major oversight. We opted for a luxury tent, which cost about twice as much . Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the tent didn’t work. Instead, there was a noisy and inefficient refrigeration machine. At night, our two tents were very hot and stuffy, even though the outside temperature had cooled.

The desert was spectacular, with incredible landscapes and plenty of free time to enjoy it. Kamal, our guide and driver, stayed with us for all three days and was truly amazing kind, attentive, and very friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The night at the camp could be improved (drinks at dinner were not included, the food was limited, and the entertainment was very brief barely lasting 2 minutes). Overall, though, it was a fantastic and highly recommended experience. The highlight was the desert itself, which was the main reason for the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it and had plenty of free time to experience it at our own pace.

The activity we booked as a simple way to visit the desert turned out to be rich and varied. It gave us the chance to explore parts of Morocco that are less well known but truly worth discovering, and to experience life like the locals. From talking with Berbers to passing through villages that live as they did in the past, it was incredible. The desert portion was unique and very well organized. Even with the basic package, we were able to enjoy everything, including showers, with a bit of flexibility. For the full experience, we recommend doing the quad biking before arriving at the camp. Special thanks to Abdul, the tour guide who accompanied us to Ait Ben Haddou, for sharing so much knowledge and sparking our interest in Berber history. As expected, there is a lot of traveling, but the outbound journey was not tiring thanks to the well planned stops, which made the time pass quickly. The first night’s accommodation was excellent, with modern rooms and all necessary amenities. The desert experience was incredible. We opted not to ride the dromedaries, following the caravan on foot instead it wasn’t difficult at all and allowed us to explore the dunes from a unique perspective. Despite early mornings, Abderrahman ensured regular stops for refreshments and photos. Guided tours at Ait Ben Haddou, Dades Valley, and Tinghir were informative and engaging. Our driver, Abderrahmane Abbassi, made everything even better he welcomed us like family, kept the trip fun, and always had solutions ready before we even realized there was a problem. He spoke perfect Spanish, which made us feel completely at ease. The desert camp was another unforgettable highlight, with music and dancing under the stars. Honestly, without this tour, our trip to Morocco would not have been the same. We highly recommend it!

An absolutely wonderful experience. The pick up and transportation were very well organized. Our driver, Rarhib, was always attentive and ready to help with anything we needed. Special thanks to Abdul, our guide to Ait Ben Haddou, who shared a wealth of knowledge and made Berber history come alive. There is a fair amount of travel, but the journey was very comfortable thanks to thoughtful stops along the way. The first night’s accommodation was excellent, featuring modern rooms and all necessary amenities. Experiencing the desert was truly amazing. We opted to walk alongside the camel caravan instead of riding, which allowed us to explore the dunes from a different perspective. The return journey to Marrakech is long, but everything went exactly as described. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent experience. The tours were engaging and enjoyable, breaking up the long journey and adding real value to our trip. Our guide Alibaba led the tour with a smile and genuine enthusiasm. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly. The hotel on the first night was basic but comfortable, with a good breakfast and even a swimming pool. The camel ride was a highlight, and we also had time for sandboarding a great way to take in the scenery between rides. Dinner was good, and there was music around the campfire. The tents had beds that looked warm, which is as much as you can expect in the Sahara during summer. Our driver Rarhib was excellent skilled, knowledgeable, and took plenty of breaks. Everyone spoke clear English, and questions were always welcomed. He also ensured we were dropped off at our hotel. Be sure to bring enough cash, as ATMs are not always available.

The 3 day trip, priced at around , was overall a very good experience. The only downside was the choice of restaurants, which were quite expensive, even though there are cheaper options with better quality food. The hotel on the first night was nice and had a pool, which was a big bonus. The camel ride was fantastic, but the desert camp had plastic tents with no ventilation we had to sleep with the doors open, and the bedding was basic, so we ended up sleeping on blankets. The bus was decent, with Wi Fi and air conditioning throughout the journey, although legroom was limited, making the 10 ,11 hour return trip a bit tiring. A special mention goes to our driver, Abdelaali always smiling, cheerful, and extremely helpful. He went above and beyond to meet everyone’s needs and handled everything with patience and kindness. The only downside was that we booked the luxury camp but ended up being the only guests, so the lively atmosphere we expected was missing. The activity was very exciting. We visited incredible places and explored many towns and villages, each with its own unique and fascinating culture. A few points of improvement: more clarity before booking the day trip would be helpful, as the included dinners did not cover drinks. Also, the standard tents in the Merzouga desert are not like those shown in the photos; those are actually Deluxe. It would be great if both accommodation types were shown so guests can make an informed choice I would have booked the Deluxe option if I had known. The standard tents were not comfortable at all, and after hours of travel and an hour in the desert, it would have been nice to have at least a sheet to cover the mattress for a more comfortable rest. Thank you very much.

A very beautiful and evocative trip to one of Morocco’s most remote and wild regions. Our tour guide was professional and helpful, and drove skillfully for many hours on Morocco’s challenging roads. Be sure to bring cash, as cards are not accepted in the desert something our guide did not mention beforehand. The guided tour of Ait Ben Haddou, while optional, felt a bit pressured, and much of the itinerary seemed designed to encourage spending (drinks, scarves, restaurants chosen by the guide). Be prepared for very long hours in a minivan the air conditioning works but isn’t very strong. Meals for lunch and dinner are included and quite good, but they repeat daily, so bringing some snacks is recommended. One unexpected challenge was walking through a river, which our group wasn’t prepared for, and mornings start early every day. In summer, the desert camps get extremely hot. Both luxury and standard tents have no air conditioning or fans, and with direct sunlight, they can become even hotter than outside. Some people tried moving the beds outside, but stray cats made sleeping difficult, and many struggled to rest at all. The highlight was the people the guides, fellow travelers, and staff were all excellent, especially our driver Khalid, who was thoughtful and kind. All activities were enjoyable except sandboarding. In the standard camp, there was only one broken board for about 30 people. The luxury camp was also disappointing they arrived about an hour late, leaving no real time to enjoy the dunes. Both guides at Ait Ben Haddou and for the carpets/canyons felt forced. The carpet tour, in particular, seemed designed to pressure someone into buying, making it feel like a tourist trap rather than a genuine experience. The “luxurious” camp, located deeper in the desert, is worth every dollar and provided an incredible, memorable experience. There’s also a swimming pool at the arrival building, so pack your swimsuit in your carry on! A couple of downsides: the hotel on the first night, where we stayed, was mediocre there were insects and hair in the bedding, linoleum in the shower, and unappealing carpeting. You need to come prepared for this experience. It’s not glamorous or luxurious, but rather a real, down to earth, and modest tour. The price is fair, and there’s no need to worry about sleeping arrangements or included breakfasts and dinners. Lunches aren’t included, and you don’t choose where to eat they’re shared with the group at a modest price. Accommodations, meals, and the people you meet are all simple, but the experience is genuinely lovely. The only reason I rate it lower is that the van’s air conditioning was broken, which made parts of the trip very uncomfortable especially in the desert, where AC feels essential, just like water. To the company’s credit, the tour guide tried to fix it, but unfortunately it couldn’t be resolved. I would only book again if I had assurance that a functioning AC would be provided. Despite this, the desert itself is perfect.

Special thanks to our fantastic driver, Brahim, who safely transported us across the country without any issues and continually checked on our well being from the second day onward. The trip went smoothly. For me, the air conditioning was a bit strong, but that’s just personal preference. Our driver, Hamid, was extremely helpful and generous throughout. The route followed the plan, although Ouarzazate didn’t include a stop at the lake as I had expected from the itinerary, which was a shame. I would recommend anyone who can to continue from

Our driver Brahim was excellent very kind and accommodating, stopping whenever we requested. The drive to the desert felt easier thanks to hourly breaks at scenic spots with restaurants. We stayed the first night in a lovely hotel in the Dades Valley, with a great buffet style dinner and breakfast. The only downside was the lunch stops, which weren’t included and felt like tourist traps with overpriced meals. On the second day, we rode camels into the Merzouga desert. After arriving, we had over three hours to explore the dunes, which felt a bit long under the hot sun arriving closer to sunset might be better. Overall, despite minor issues, this trip is highly recommended: unforgettable and excellent value for money.

Kiki was our driver and provided excellent service, always attentive to the passengers. The tour guides were generally very good. The standard camp, however, could have been better organized we were left unsure of what was happening next and without any explanation. The lunch stops were disappointing, as the food quality was poor and prices were high. Otherwise, the tour was well planned and quite comprehensive.

The guide was completely trustworthy and extremely friendly we never felt uncomfortable for a moment. It was a fun trip, and he is a great and safe driver! Thank you, Abdul, for everything . A special thanks also to the staff at the Berber tent for their flexibility in handling my luggage, which hadn’t arrived with us that evening.

Overall, the planning could be improved. The visit to Todgha Gorge was too short only about 20,30 minutes and felt rushed. Later in the day, we had to wait nearly two hours before the camel ride started. The “Luxury Camp” didn’t feel luxurious: only one towel was provided for two people, despite requesting an extra towel three times with no response from the staff. The shower had almost no water pressure in the morning, making it impossible to take a proper shower. Paying extra for a tent shower felt like poor value for money. The trip would be better as a 4 day experience rather than 3, making it more relaxing for participants and the driver. Drivers focus only on driving they are not guides and do not explain the places you visit. Houssein, our driver, did an excellent job driving and was very kind. Overall, the trip was good, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Amazing trip with excellent tour guides and drivers throughout. The food and lodging were below expectations, even with the “luxury” upgrade. Despite this, the experience offers great value and is truly unforgettable. If luxury accommodations are a priority, I would recommend looking for a higher end option.

Youssef was a fantastic driver very helpful and attentive to everyone’s needs . We also met some truly friendly and pleasant people along the way. The trip was well organized, though in hindsight I would have liked to stay an extra night or two in the desert. It’s a long journey, but definitely worth it. For those interested, it’s possible to fly from there (1h30min). Thanks again to Youssef!

The tour guides at the main sites were excellent, the accommodations were great, and the food throughout whether in restaurants, hotels, or at the desert camp was really enjoyable. It was a nice mix of people, and although the drive is long, you know that when signing up. The only downside was our guide/driver. He spoke very little English, which made it difficult to ask questions or have things pointed out along the way. Since I speak French and Spanish, he had me sit at the front and use Google Translate from Arabic into English, then into French and Spanish for the group. I didn’t really mind helping, but it did feel like it wasn’t my job since I’d paid to be on the tour, not work as a translator. He was also a bit too friendly at times (solo female traveler issues), and he seemed unsure of what to do, even asking my opinion on where we should stop (when I had no idea where we were!). Other than that, the tour itself was fabulous and I would still recommend it.

Amazing way to experience both culture and nature! Our driver, Rarhib, was absolutely outstanding from the very first moment he really made the whole trip worthwhile with his care for everyone and the information he shared. He was always available to help and guide us. The only downside was the first night’s “hotel,” which didn’t meet expectations: cleanliness was lacking (insects in the room such as spiders and flies), and the food at both meals wasn’t enough for everyone. On the other hand, camping in the desert was unforgettable, with a fantastic team who made sure we had fun until the end. Overall, I highly recommend this tour, but it would be great to know the hotel and its conditions in advance for the first night.

The overall layout of the trip is very well thought out. The only downside is that water isn’t included, so you constantly have to remember to buy it, which takes away from the experience a little.

All in all, it was a very interesting but also exhausting trip. I would have preferred better accommodation for the first night, as well as higher-quality lunch options, and I would have been happy to pay extra for both. Such upgrades could be offered as a “luxury” option. The additional charged per lunch felt like a cash grab compared to the actual quality the buffet food was low grade cafeteria style, and the cutlery was only semi clean at best. Be aware that local guides will often try to sell items at the end of their tours. That said, a huge respect and warm thanks to our guide Al Hash (hope I spelled that correctly!) the best guide imaginable. Safe travels, my friend!

An amazing adventure! You see so much in such a short time. Our guide, Mazozi, was very kind and made the trip feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend this tour for those who want to experience a lot without spending too much. It is quite touristic, but still worthwhile.

The itinerary was fascinating from the Todra Gorges and welcoming villages to Ait Ben Haddou, the desert night, and camel rides, everything was incredible. Meeting people from around the world was a highlight, and communicating in English was easy. The first hotel was amazing, complete with a beautiful traditional music show. Our driver, Abdelaali, was friendly, helpful, and treated us very well, and the Todra Gorges guide was passionate and kind. Unfortunately, some fellow tourists in the van were loud, aggressive, and disrespectful, making the journey uncomfortable, and no one addressed their behavior. Another downside was that meals were not included. Although labeled optional, it seemed there were deals with expensive, remote restaurants with no real alternatives. When we chose not to eat at one, a guide questioned us, which created an unpleasant atmosphere, making the arrangement feel prearranged between the agency and the restaurants.

There were far too many tourists at the same time, which meant a long wait to set off on the camels from the top of the dunes, leaving us very cold for about two hours. Fortunately, the view and the camp made it worth it (bring a warm sweater for sleeping). The same issue occurred along the road waiting for all the groups and eating the same meals in tourist restaurants felt repetitive. These moments would have been more enjoyable in a smaller, more intimate setting. Luckily, our driver Houssein was fantastic, making everyone in our group of eight feel comfortable and chatting with us during the long journey, which really helped us enjoy the adventure more.

The city tours were enjoyable but felt a bit like a money grab, as the guides weren’t official and mainly took us to shops. On the bright side, the first dinner was fantastic! Spending the afternoon in the desert was amazing, even though one of the two sandboards was broken. The dromedary ride isn’t quite 1 hour 30 minutes, but it’s still a wonderful experience (just be gentle and mindful of the animals). It was quite windy, and the plastic tents felt precarious, but the standard camp was still comfortable. Overall, a great experience that we’d recommend to anyone.

The visits and the desert sunset were simply amazing. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed mingling with the locals. The luxury tent in the desert was very comfortable, and our driver ensured safe and smooth journeys throughout. The scenery along the way was breathtaking. A few minor points: more precise information during the trip would be helpful for instance, the desert was a bit windy at night, which caught us off guard, and the lunch stop on the last day wasn’t ideal.

The desert tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Morocco. Our guide Hussein and the wonderful travel companions made it even more special. With the many stops along the way, the journey felt like an exciting road trip rather than a long drive, constantly rewarding us with stunning views and rich cultural experiences. My only concern was the camel riding. While many tourists enjoy it, I would have appreciated more mindfulness and respect for the animals, and I wish there were tour options without camel riding. It’s hard to know if the animals’ welfare is fully considered, and it’s unfortunate that their lives can be difficult.

The trip was excellent, full of interesting experiences, and offered a lot to see. The desert was incredible, and the sights were truly marvelous. The food arranged by the agency was good, but the lunch stops felt like tourist traps it's better to look for alternatives if possible. The bus seats were quite uncomfortable for such long drives. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip and would definitely recommend it to others.

I would like to start by thanking our driver, Ajbeli: friendly, kind, and always available, sharing plenty of helpful information along the way. The journey itself was spectacular, with stunning landscapes and interesting stops before reaching the Merzouga desert. The camel ride is an unforgettable experience, complemented by sandboarding and watching the sunset over the dunes. On the return trip the next morning, we opted for a quad bike ride, which I highly recommend for anyone familiar with them. The desert camp was well organized, with bathrooms, dinner, and a bonfire accompanied by music under the stars. The only downside was that the sheets were covered in sand, suggesting they hadn’t been changed. Additionally, one member of our group fell ill, likely due to food at one of the restaurants along the way. Despite these minor issues, it was a wonderful experience, and we would like to thank Ajbeli again he deserves 7 stars!

Lhossain Idrissi was our guide, picking us up from the hotel and ensuring all stops were comfortable and well timed. A downside: the local guide in Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is optional, but during the descent, visitors are grouped, and the guide collects a commission at the end. Lunches averaged per person. The night before heading to the desert, our hotel had some dampness on the ceiling and felt somewhat adapted rather than fully prepared for guests. All dinners were buffet style, except in the desert, where the meal was a single dish shared among four people.

A wonderful adventure with a friendly, international group and an excellent driver, KiKi kind, attentive, and always ready to make stops for sightseeing. Morocco revealed its breathtaking landscapes beautifully. A slight disappointment was the visit to Ait Ben Haddou; it’s an exceptional site that deserves more time to explore, but with multiple buses, the visit felt rushed. Meals were good, costing around. The hotel in Dades was excellent. The desert experience was unforgettable: camel rides, sunset views, and sand dune adventures. The standard campsite is decent no evening showers, only the next morning (bring your own towel), and sheets could be cleaner. Overall, 100% recommended.
