Set in the heart of the Anatolia region Cappadocia is one of Turkey’s most famous natural wonders. We have put together a unique 3 day experience that guarantees you will see all that this phenomenal area has to offer. To come to Turkey and not see Cappadocia is an injustice and to come to Cappadocia and not do it properly is just not right. The almost lunar like landscapes have been formed by thousands of years of weather erosion. The rocks now resemble hundreds of towers almost like minarets on a mosque. It really is a sight to behold. The Kemer 3 Days Cappadocia Tour price includes all transfers to and from Cappadocia, 2 nights in a comfortable hotel and of course your expert guide who will be with you at all times to explain the amazing scenery and the story that goes with it.
9 million years ago sedimentary rocks began forming in what were lakes and streams in this area. Over time the lakes disappeared and the rocks began to erode forming the unique structures that stand all around this region now. Known locally as fairy towers, these clusters of amazing rock formations have been home to humans since before bible times. Churches, homes and businesses have been carved into the rocks and you can still explore and see how it would have been like to live here thousands of years ago.
This is a fantastic experience for those looking to learn more about not just the history of this area but also the natural wonders of Turkey.
We begin the multiple day adventure by journeying into the Taurus mountains in central Anatolia. The views on either side of the vehicle are wonderful and you will instantly feel the stresses of city life fall behind you. We will take our time to get to Cappadocia as there is plenty to see along the way and you won’t want to miss any of it.
Stopping at Konya city we’ll have the chance to visit the Mevlana museum. This is the home of the tomb of Celaleddin Rumi who was the creator of the famous whirling dervishes. This is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Turkey and is well worth a visit. Following this we’ll venture to the underground city of Siratli Kirkgoz. You can explore the fascinating tunnels and see how the people created this underground world for them to live in. There is a huge cathedral dug deep into the rocks which has been very well preserved. It really is an amazing site to explore and you will of course have your guide on hand to explain each point of interest. Following our first day of exploration we’ll set up at our hotel in Cappadocia and enjoy a restful night’s sleep.
On the second day we will get right to the action of exploring Cappadocia. We’ll visit the world famous Pasabag valley. This is one of the best places to view the fairy towers. The valley is actually a vineyard which makes the scenery even more stunning. Locally it is referred to as monk’s valley which is a reflection on how the rock formations are monk like in their form at times. You will definitely need to bring your camera on this trip as there is nowhere else on earth with such amazing landscapes.
We’ll then journey to another great site to see the fairy towers, Goreme valley. Marvel at the scenery as your guide takes you through the valley explaining how the formations first cam about and pointing out different points of interest. The Goreme open air museum is one of the most visited sites in all of Turkey and has some of the best collections of painted cave churches anywhere in the world. The open air museum is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Following a full on day of exploration you can enjoy the evening at your leisure. If you like you can attend a special dinner with a whirling dervish show which is a fantastic performance that you won’t want to miss. There is an extra charge for this.
On our final day we will begin our journey back through the countryside. We’ll have the opportunity to stop at the town of Avanos which is a wonderfully quaint town that specialises in a unique kind of pottery. You can see locals going about their work and making plates, cups and other items using their own techniques. It’s a great spot to get some really special souveirs or gifts from your time here in Turkey. We’ll also pass by the Kizilirmak river which at 1,355 km is the longest river in Turkey. Lunch will be enjoyed at Aksaray, an old silk road town, where traders and travellers have stopped off for centuries.
