An exciting excursion, to say the least. Everything was perfectly organized: we received a message beforehand with the exact meeting point. After an hour’s drive, we arrived in the desert and put on traditional Berber clothing. We enjoyed a one and a half hour camel ride with Yousef, a kind, helpful, and friendly guide who took lots of photos, sang songs with us, and made the sunset the perfect backdrop for a memorable experience!

I really enjoyed this experience! Although the ad lists 1.5 hours for the excursion, that seems to refer to the time spent on site. From Marrakech, the total is about three hours roughly 1.5 hours for round trip travel and 1.5 hours for the camel ride and tea. Lots of fun, and I highly recommend it!

We were picked up from our hostel and taken to the desert, where everyone was very kind and accommodating. We enjoyed a camel ride at sunset along narrow paths through the dunes. The guides were fantastic and took plenty of photos of us and our camels. Afterwards, we visited a camp where other tours were also present. We were served tea while enjoying drumming and singing around the campfire. Although not included in our package, we also got salad, bread, grilled meat skewers, and fruit while other tours had dinner. The guides were very friendly and shared a lot about Berber traditions. Finally, we were returned to the hostel. A truly wonderful experience and a must do on any Morocco trip!

I can’t put into words how perfect this experience was. Despite what other reviews may say, this is an absolute must. Achmed and Youssif, who are brothers, were wonderful companions Youssif even had me singing and captured some of the best photos I’ve taken on my trip. Sayed and Aladeen, our guide and driver, made everything effortless. The views, the peaceful feeling of riding a camel, and the most stunning sunset I’ve ever seen made it unforgettable. Book this you won’t regret it.

Everything was exactly as described. We were contacted the day before about the pickup location, and the driver arrived right on time. The minibus was clean and comfortable, taking us about 40 minutes outside the city toward the desert. The tour itself was relatively short. We began by putting on traditional dresses, which were clean and added to the excitement, and then rode our camels. We walked a short distance while the guide took some beautiful photos of the sunset behind us. Afterwards, we went to a tent for tea, which was very pleasant. Our camel guide was a young, funny guy who spoke excellent English despite living in the desert. I would definitely recommend this experience for families with small children.

The activity itself was excellent, with plenty of time to enjoy the experience. Finding the driver was easy, especially with a WhatsApp chat beforehand. However, after dismounting the camel and arriving at the camp, we were mixed with other groups and offered musical entertainment around a campfire, which wasn’t part of the program. Our driver was ready to take us back, and we might have left without trying the included mint tea if not for this. Overall, I still recommend the experience, but the organization could be improved.

Pros: We could dress in Berber costumes and take pictures. The staff took my smartphone to capture photos but let me review them and retake if needed, which was great. The camel ride was long enough, and the tea afterward was delicious with refills. The staff were very responsive once we arrived in the desert. Cons: I was concerned after reading other participants’ notes, so I double checked the meeting time and location multiple times. Since it was an evening tour, it was helpful to confirm during the day, but I initially couldn’t get through by phone. When I finally connected, the call dropped, and I couldn’t fully confirm. Later, I received an email around 4:00 PM with updated details the hotel pick up at 17:30 changed to 17:40 at KFC near Funa Square. The round trip took about two hours, one hour each way. It would be helpful if the tour description specified that the total duration is around 3.5 hours, including the 1.5 hour camel tour. On the plus side, we enjoyed the scenic views of Marrakech areas not typically visited by tourists.

The price felt high for what was offered. The promotion promised pick-up at our riad, but we were later told this wasn’t possible it would be better to clarify this upfront to manage expectations. I recommend checking with your riad or looking at other Agafay desert experiences. The driver was nearly on time despite peak traffic and drove quickly as the sun was setting. The tour was well organized, and the driver arrived early at the meeting point. Unfortunately, the camels seemed very stressed. One camel was particularly restless, fidgeting and zigzagging because it had been separated from its baby. Only near the end did the handlers return the baby to calm the camel. For those unfamiliar with riding camels, this could have been dangerous. Aside from that, the rest of the tour was charming, with mint tea and traditional Berber songs.

If you’ve never ridden a camel before, it can be an experience to try, though in my opinion the camels seemed stressed and tired. They were very nervous and tied closely together, so at times their heads and hindquarters got tangled when we stopped. Some became agitated multiple times. The ride takes place along and below the road, not deep in the desert as one might imagine. The staff were very kind and friendly, and the tea was excellent as usual.
